Cabbage Growth Introduction Cabbage likes to grow in fertile and loose soil, just keep it moist, place it on the balcony in a well-ventilated place, and water it every 2-3 days. Cabbage is cultivated in various parts of my country, and it comes from the Mediterranean region of Europe. Cabbage growth cycle The growth process of cabbage is basically the same as that of Chinese cabbage, but the number of days required for each growth period is longer. The germination period takes 8-10 days; the seedling stage takes 25-30 days; the rosette stage, early-maturing varieties require 20-25 days, and medium- and late-maturing varieties require 30-35 days; the heading stage, early-maturing varieties require 20-25 days, and medium- and late-maturing varieties require 30-50 days. Cabbage growth rate Cabbage seeds are collected in autumn in the north. In the first year, leaf heads are formed and vegetative growth is completed. Vernalization is completed through low temperatures in winter. In the spring of the second year, the photoperiod is completed through long days and the cabbage blooms and bears fruit. Cabbage growth cycle management The yield of cabbage varies with different varieties. Generally, early-maturing varieties have 4,000 to 6,000 plants per mu; mid-maturing varieties have 2,500 to 3,000 plants per mu; late-maturing varieties have 1,500 to 1,800 plants per mu and 3,000 to 3,500 kilograms per mu. Temperature management: Cabbage likes mild climate, can resist severe frost and relatively high temperature. The suitable temperature during the heading period is 15-20°C, but the adaptable temperature range is 7-25°C. Fertilization management : The base fertilizer of cabbage is generally applied during land preparation. The seedling fertilizer is applied when the cabbage is still in the seedling stage. Fertilization after planting should be carried out in multiple times. After entering the rosette stage, the quality of the lotus plate must be guaranteed and its growth must be promoted. This is of great benefit to the later heading of the cabbage. |
