How to grow honeysuckle

How to grow honeysuckle

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: There are no special requirements for the soil, as long as it is fertile and moist soil.

2. Watering: Generally, water once every 3-5 days. If it is rainy, reduce or stop watering. In summer, the temperature is relatively high. In order to prevent the leaves from drying out, increase the amount of watering. In winter, the temperature is relatively low, try to reduce watering. You can wait until the soil turns white before watering in small amounts.

3. Fertilization: When repotting, you can apply some cake fertilizer as base fertilizer, and then apply Sian cake fertilizer appropriately before each flowering. Fertilization is generally not required in other seasons.

4. Light: Honeysuckle likes an environment with plenty of sunlight. If it is placed in a cool environment for a long time, it will grow slowly. Shade measures should be taken when the sunlight is strong in summer.

2. Breeding Methods

Propagation by cuttings: Cut healthy branches with leaves, prepare a flowerpot and insert them in the pot. Make sure the soil is moist and ventilated. Place it in a ventilated and cool place, away from direct sunlight. It will take about a month to take root.

3. Common pests and diseases

The more common ones include leaf spot and powdery mildew, aphids, sawflies, etc. Take timely measures after discovery and spray with a ratio of malathion emulsion to water. However, do not spray the pesticide one week before and after flowering, otherwise toxic substances will easily remain in the flowers.
