Bamboo can be planted in pots, but it is best to choose some miniature bamboos and buy flower soil suitable for bamboo growth. In comparison, bamboo is more suitable for planting in the ground.

If bamboo is planted in a pot, it is more suitable to choose a larger shallow pot, because the plant has a larger shape. Potted bamboo can also bloom if properly maintained.

How to grow bamboo in pots

1. Soil

Bamboo is not very demanding on soil, but it prefers moist, fertile soil. Sandy soil should be used as the main soil for planting. River sand, pine needles, and leaf mold can be used for potted maintenance.

2. Lighting

Planting bamboo in the Northeast has certain requirements for light. It needs to be given sufficient light during the growth period, but it must be properly shaded in the summer.

3. Fertilization

When bamboo is first planted, some fertilizer needs to be added to the soil as base fertilizer. After the plant begins normal growth, 0.5% urea needs to be applied.

4. Moisture

Bamboo likes a humid environment. During the maintenance process, it needs to be watered once every 4-5 days, and the soil should be kept slightly moist, so that the plant will grow more vigorously.

5. Pruning

If you need to prune bamboo during its growth process, you can cut a few more sections and do not let the plant grow too tall, otherwise it will reduce the beauty of the plant.
