Iris cultivation methods and precautions

Iris cultivation methods and precautions

1. Watering

It likes a humid environment and needs to be watered frequently during maintenance to maintain a relatively high humidity. Water frequently during the growing season, but if it is grown in soil, there should be no water accumulation. For hydroponics, the water quality must be clean, and there must be no moss, weeds or other substances that may pollute the water quality.

2. Fertilization

If you want it to grow more vigorously, you must use fertilizer. Fertilizer should be applied regularly during the growing period, three or four times in total. Fertilizer should be freshly diluted before application, and attention should be paid to using low-concentration fertilizer, or farmyard manure can also be used.

3. Temperature

It is inherently cold-resistant and can survive safely even in winter. However, its ability to withstand high temperatures is relatively weak, so you should pay attention to cooling it down in the summer, especially in the south. You should spray water on it and avoid keeping it in a high temperature environment for a long time.

4. Lighting

Under normal circumstances, it starts to grow and sprout in spring, and the flowering period is also early. Therefore, the demand for light is high in the first half of the year. It should be placed in a well-lit place and given six hours of light a day so that the flowers will look better. If placed in a cool place for a long time, it will easily wilt and affect its growth.

5. Notes

In addition to maintenance methods, you should also pay attention to pruning. Prune in time every spring and autumn or after the flowering season, and trim rotten leaves, dead branches and dead flowers. Only by cutting them off can you save nutrients and promote better growth, stronger growth and more beautiful plant shape.
