Can strawberries be grown in the north?

Strawberries can be grown in the north. Although the plants have a certain degree of cold resistance, most strawberries in the north are grown in greenhouses. Because the winters in the north are relatively cold, the growth of strawberries will be affected in an environment below 10℃.

Strawberries are native to South America and are currently widely grown in various regions of my country. The plants prefer to grow in a warm and cool climate. The main producing areas in my country include Dandong, Liaoning, Changfeng, Anhui, Fenghua, Zhejiang and other places.

How to grow strawberries in the north

1. Temperature: The most suitable temperature for strawberry growth is 5-30℃. Too high or too low temperature will affect the growth of the plant. When the temperature is higher than 30℃, corresponding cooling measures should be taken.

2. Light: Strawberries need sufficient sunlight during their growth period. Only when they grow in an environment with sufficient light can the color of the fruit be brighter and the taste be sweeter. However, they cannot be exposed to strong sunlight.

3. Watering: Strawberries are not tolerant to waterlogging. You can water them in small amounts during the budding period, and then water them appropriately when the soil is dry. If it rains too much, drainage measures need to be taken in time.
