Suitable time for sowing cabbage

Cabbage, also known as Korean cabbage, is a plant of the genus Brassica in the family Cruciferae. It is grown all over China. It prefers a moist and mild environment and requires sufficient light during its growing period. It is also very cold-resistant and has a strong ability to adapt to high temperatures.

Because cabbage has strong adaptability, it can be planted in spring, summer and autumn and grows well. In the cold northern regions, it is generally sown and seedlings are raised in spring, planted in summer, and harvested in autumn. However, in the warmer southern regions, it is planted in spring and autumn.

Cabbage sowing method

Cabbage is very cold-resistant and can adapt well to hot weather. It can be planted in the open field in spring, summer and autumn. If the weather is cold, it can be transplanted into a greenhouse.

Specific method:

1. Seed treatment: In order to ensure the germination of cabbage, the seeds generally need to be exposed to the sun for three days before planting, and then soaked in a diluted potassium permanganate solution. After that, take out and wash them, and germinate them. Wash them with warm water once a day, and they will be ready after three days.

2. Sowing and seedling raising: Sow the germinated seeds on the seedbed. Note that the seedbed should be watered once before sowing, and then covered with a layer of soil before sowing.

3. Planting management: The temperature must be cool when planting cabbage. Water it once after planting to promote its root growth. In addition, fertilizer and water management must be done well and water it frequently.

Cabbage ripe for harvest

After cabbage is planted, it takes about fifty to seventy days from planting to maturity. After entering the growth period, it will go through three stages before it reaches fruition. Its flowering period takes about thirty to forty days, and the fruiting period takes forty to fifty days.
