How to propagate purple grass

How to propagate purple grass

Time of reproduction

The reproduction of this small flower basically relies on seeds, and the operation time is not very strict, but it cannot be done in midsummer. Seeding is possible in the other three seasons. The temperature in spring and autumn is just right for the germination of small flowers. If the temperature is high, the seeds are likely to go dormant and fail to reproduce normally.

Steps to reproduction

First of all, you need to choose the right soil. This kind of flower requires the soil pH not to be too high. It is best to be within the range of 5-5.5. It does not have many requirements for the soil quality. If it is a looser humus soil, it will be better. Before planting, add some basic fertilizer to ensure that they have enough nutrition supply in the early growth stage.

Seeds also need light during the germination stage, so the vermiculite placed on the seeds after sowing should be thinner. In addition, the seeds and substrate must be thoroughly disinfected before sowing. There must be a certain amount of moisture in the soil, but not too much. Too much water will cause the seeds to have difficulty breathing and cannot breathe well.

After sowing, they need to be properly shaded and the sun should not be allowed to shine directly on the seeds. They will be ready in the pot in about a month, and can be maintained normally after the root system is stable.

Post-breeding care

Half a month after transplanting into the flowerpot, you should start fertilizing, and continue fertilizing once a week until it blooms. Before flowering, be sure to add fertilizer with a relatively high phosphorus content. The concentration of fertilizer should not be too high, otherwise it will burn the plants. Another thing to note is that you must pay attention to ventilation and the planting density should not be too high. If the flowers bloom too early, you must pick them off, otherwise the plants may absorb some of their nutrients by the early flowers and the plants will not be able to grow normally.
