How to Propagate Spathiphyllum

How to Propagate Spathiphyllum

1. Division

1. The time can be chosen in spring, which is just right for repotting. It can also be done in autumn. Both time periods are suitable.

2. Select plants that are in good growth condition and carefully take them out of the pots. Divide the rhizomes into several clumps from the base of the plant, making sure each clump contains more than three stems and buds.

3. Prepare suitable potting soil, then plant the divided plants into pots, adjust the temperature, and carry out subsequent maintenance management.

2. Sowing

Peace lily seeds are difficult to obtain, so this method is not commonly used.

1. First, obtain seeds through pollination. This process takes about 10-15 months. Soak the seeds in warm water to promote germination, then remove them and place them in a cool place to dry.

2. Sowing should be done in a greenhouse and the soil should be disinfected. The soil can be exposed to the sun or filled with disinfectant.

3. After preparing the soil, control the temperature at around 25 degrees Celsius, then sow the seeds and maintain good humidity.

4. After the seedlings grow leaves, they can be transplanted into pots and liquid fertilizer can be applied appropriately to promote the growth of the seedlings.
