Breeding methods and precautions of Jade

How to cultivate jade

soil

To grow jade plants, you can use fertile soil with good drainage. Mix leaf mold, garden soil and coarse sand to make culture soil. Then add an appropriate amount of decomposed organic fertilizer or compound fertilizer as base fertilizer. If possible, you can add a small amount of lime material.

Light and temperature

Jade plant likes plenty of sunlight, and the ball will grow more beautifully if the light is good. Too weak light is not conducive to its growth, but you should pay attention to providing a little shade in the summer and placing the jade plant in a warm and well-lit place indoors in the winter. The suitable temperature for the growth of Jade is between 5℃ and 35℃, and the temperature cannot be too high or too low. In winter, they usually spend the winter indoors, keeping the temperature above 5℃.

Water and fertilizer management

Jade plant needs to be watered more frequently during its growth period to keep the soil moist. Watering is generally done when the soil is dry. Water once or twice a month during the growing period. Winter is a dormant period, so reduce watering and keep the soil in the pot dry. Be careful not to water the ball when watering. Jade plant likes to be fertilized with light fertilizer, and there is no need to apply too much fertilizer. 2-3 times a month of thin liquid fertilizer is enough. Top dressing mainly includes phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. In the spring of each year, you can apply some bone meal to the jade plant, and stop fertilizing during the winter dormancy.

Precautions for breeding of jade

Reproduction method

The reproduction of Jade Amaranthus can be done by sowing in April to June, or by cuttings in April to October. Grafting is also a commonly used method, using cactus or octopus as rootstock.
