Cherry fertilization time

It is best to fertilize cherries 3-4 times a year. Generally, base fertilizer should be applied in early autumn in August or September. Fertilization can increase the nutrient accumulation of the tree, which is conducive to flowering and fruiting. Topdressing should also be done before budding and when the fruit is developing. The first application is quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer, and the second application is special fertilizer for fruit trees or nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer.

What fertilizer to use for cherry

The pre-flowering fertilizer for cherries is mainly phosphorus and nitrogen fertilizers to promote the germination of flower buds and the growth of spring shoots. Fruit-enhancing fertilizers should also be applied, mainly nitrogen and potassium fertilizers, with phosphorus fertilizers to supplement tree nutrition and improve fruit quality. Top dressing should be mainly with quick-acting potassium fertilizers before the fruit colors, which can promote fruit enlargement.
