Cultivation methods and precautions of Globe amaranth

Cultivation methods and precautions of Globe amaranth

1. Lighting

It likes light, so it needs to be placed in a place with good sunlight. It will only bloom and grow normally if there is sufficient light. It needs at least four hours of light a day. If it is kept in the shade for a long time, the growth rate will slow down and the plant will wilt.

2. Watering

During the management period, watering does not need to be too frequent, the soil just needs to be slightly moist, and a relatively dry environment is more conducive to growth. Watering can be determined according to the growth conditions. If you need to control the water during the growth period of the seedlings, you should increase the amount of water appropriately during the flowering period to promote normal growth of the flowers.

3. Fertilization

Fertilize regularly during maintenance, as it likes fertilizer. Usually, when potting, you should mix an appropriate amount of base fertilizer into the soil. In the later stage of the growing season, apply fertilizer once every half a month. Use phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. This can promote growth and increase resistance.

4. Pruning

Globe amaranth grows very fast and needs to be pruned frequently during maintenance. When the seedlings grow to about 15 cm, they should be topped to promote branch growth. In the later stage of growth, the flowering period and plant shape should be controlled according to specific circumstances. In addition, you should also cut off the yellowing and wilting leaves in time to save nutrients and make it grow more robust.

5. Notes

When managing watering, you should pay attention to the flowering period. When watering, avoid the flowers and do not let the flowers get wet. You should also stop fertilizing. In addition, the plant is susceptible to damping-off disease. When the disease occurs, it is necessary to disinfect it in time and irrigate the roots with fungicides.
