How to identify bat kudzu

1. Morphological identification

Bat vine is a perennial herb with relatively slender stems with stripes and no hair. The diameter is 2 to 10 mm. The surface color is yellow-brown or black-brown with obvious longitudinal grooves and a relatively hard texture. The twigs are slender cylindrical, green in appearance, curved, up to 50 cm in length, about 0.3 to 0.8 cm in diameter, and yellow-brown to dark brown in color.

2. Leaf identification

The leaves are alternate, kidney-shaped or oval, relatively round, about 5 to 12 cm long, with little difference in width, 3 to 7 shallow cracks on the edges, and are hairless on both sides and covered with white powder underneath. The petiole is relatively long, about 3 to 10 cm or longer, and has stripes on it.
