Can lilies be planted in soil?

Lilies can be planted in the soil, and they grow better when planted in the soil. If you want to plant lilies, you can first choose a good place or soil to plant them. After choosing, put the bulbs down and bury them. Water them a little the next day, and then water them again when the soil is dry.

When planting lilies, the soil needs to have a certain amount of humus and the soil layer should be relatively deep. Lilies should never be planted in sticky soil. Secondly, the soil pH value for planting lilies should be between 6 and 7, which is the best soil for its growth.

Lily soil cultivation method

1. Select scales

When planting lilies, choose plants with thicker scales. Before planting, soak the scales in a diluted disinfectant solution for 30-40 minutes. Then insert 1/2 of the disinfected scales into the soil for maintenance. Water the plants after a week. After waiting for half a month, new seedlings will grow from the cuts of the scales.

2. Provide moisture

Lilies are relatively drought-resistant. In daily care, they are generally watered every 3-5 days. When the weather is hot in summer, they need to be watered every 1 day, and their leaves and surrounding areas need to be sprayed with water to lower the air temperature and increase the humidity of the environment. In winter, the soil only needs to be kept slightly moist.

3. Supplement nutrients

Lilies have a high demand for nutrients. In spring and summer, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizers should be applied to lilies every half a month to promote the healthy growth of the plant's stems. Note that when the temperature is below 10 degrees, it is not advisable to fertilize lilies as fertilizer damage may easily occur.

4. Growth environment

Lilies are suitable for growing in a warm environment between 15-25 degrees. When the temperature is higher than 35 degrees, a shade net is needed to shade the lilies to prevent the plants from being burned by strong light. When the temperature is lower than 10 degrees, they need to be moved to a warmer place indoors for maintenance to prevent the plants from being frostbitten.
