The growing environment and local conditions of mugwort

Mugwort Growth Environment and Conditions

Mugwort has strong adaptability to the environment and is widely distributed. Except for extremely cold and dry areas, it is found almost throughout the country. It is mainly distributed in eastern Asia, such as the Korean Peninsula, Japan, Mongolia, and Northeast, North my country, East China, South China, Southwest China, Shaanxi and Gansu in China.

Wormwood Growing Conditions

Mugwort is generally distributed in low to medium altitude areas, and is commonly found in wastelands, roadsides, riversides and hillsides. It is also distributed in forest-steppe and grassland areas.

Wormwood growth temperature

Mugwort grows fast and has strong adaptability to the environment. It prefers a warm and humid environment, is cold-resistant and drought-resistant, and grows better in moist and fertile soil. The temperature during the growth period is best between 24 and 30 degrees. The quality will be poor if the temperature is above 30 degrees Celsius. The perennial roots of the year will not grow well if the temperature is below minus 3 degrees Celsius in winter.

Mugwort planting and growth process

1. Site selection: The soil for the growth and planting of mugwort needs light. Generally speaking, mugwort has strong adaptability but cannot be often waterlogged. When choosing a plot of land, you should choose a flat terrain or one that is conducive to drainage. There must be sufficient water sources around it, and try to choose soil with better saturation.

2. Reproduction: Mugwort can be reproduced sexually and asexually. Sexual reproduction requires the seeds to be germinated, otherwise the growth rate will be extremely slow if sown directly. Therefore, asexual reproduction is often used in normal planting. Dig new tubers next to the old mugwort, and be careful not to damage the main parts, so that the growth rate will be fast.

3. Fertilization: Mugwort likes fertile soil. When planting, apply sufficient base fertilizer. You can use compost or animal manure. Fertilizer can be applied once 10 days after transplanting. Urea is generally used. Urea can be applied once when the plant height is 50-60 cm. Pay attention to applying thin fertilizers frequently.

4. Water: Mugwort likes a humid environment, but cannot tolerate waterlogging. Therefore, watering should be moderate to keep the soil slightly moist. When the mugwort is still relatively short, sprinkler irrigation is generally used. When it grows to 1 meter, flood irrigation can be used.

5. Density: When planting mugwort, the spacing must be controlled, because mugwort will continue to grow new seedlings after a certain period of growth, so the distance when planting is generally 30-40 cm, so that it has enough reproduction space, can better carry out photosynthesis, and can also reduce the occurrence of some diseases.
