1. Cutting methodCutting propagation of scented roses is usually carried out in spring or autumn. During the dormant period of the rose, use scissors to cut a mature flower branch with three or four buds, cut off the leaves on the lower half of the branch, leaving only the slightly tender leaves on the top, and then insert the trimmed branches into the middle, with a depth of about half the length of the branch. After cuttings, the soil should be kept moist. If tender branches are used, proper shading should be provided. Generally, the branches will take root in about a month. If rooting powder is used, the survival rate will be higher. 2. Layering methodFor layering propagation, choose more mature flower branches, use a knife to peel the skin in a ring shape at an appropriate distance from the top, and then wrap the layer with plastic wrap. Take good care of it during the process and keep the soil moist. After new roots grow out, cut the new roots and transplant them. 3. Grafting methodWhen grafting perfume roses, rose is generally used as the rootstock. A horizontal incision is made with a knife near the ground. Then a branch of perfume rose is taken and inserted into the incision of the rootstock. It is then tied and fixed with plastic wrap. During the recovery period, proper shading is required. The interface will heal in about half a month. 4. Division methodIf you use the division method to propagate the perfume rose, it is usually in early spring or late autumn. Dig the mother plant of the perfume rose out of the soil, gently clean the soil at the roots of the plant, trim off all the messy stump roots, diseased roots, and rotten roots, and then separate the mother plant into bundles of two or three branches. Note that each bundle must have some roots, and then plant the separated small bundles separately, and it will bloom that year. 5. Seeding methodThis kind of flower is also sown in spring and autumn before wintering. Roses sown in spring will germinate around mid-April. Pay attention to keeping the potting soil slightly moist and provide appropriate shade and care for the seedlings. Transplant the plants in late autumn or spring when the flowers begin to hibernate. |
