Banana Growth Environment and Conditions

Bananas are suitable for planting in land with deep, loose soil and good drainage. China is one of the oldest countries in the world to cultivate bananas, and later it was spread to all parts of the world. China's production areas include Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Taiwan, Yunnan and Hainan, and there are also small amounts of bananas planted in Chongqing, Guizhou and Sichuan.

Banana Growing Conditions

Bananas prefer high temperature and humid environment, and prefer hot and humid climate. The suitable growth temperature is between 20-35 degrees, and the best growth temperature is between 24-32 degrees. Their resistance to low temperature is very weak, and the temperature in winter cannot be lower than 15.5 degrees. Therefore, they are generally planted in the south, and it is not easy to bear fruit in the low temperature weather in the north.

Banana Growth Process

The entire growth period of bananas can be divided into the budding stage, the vegetative growth stage, the simultaneous vegetative and reproductive stages, and the fruit growth and development to maturity stage according to their different morphology and development characteristics.

Banana planting time and method

Bananas are suitable for transplanting in spring. Depending on the soil conditions, they can be planted in furrows or ponds. Furrow planting can be used when planting in large fields. The soil needs to be deep plowed and ridged in advance. There are two rows in one ridge, and the ditch between each ridge is 0.5 meters deep and 0.3 meters wide. The ridge is 100 meters long. Drainage ditches should also be dug to reduce the occurrence of water accumulation. Pond planting is used in dry land, with 150 plants planted per mu.
