The growth environment and local conditions of Dendrobium officinale

Dendrobium officinale growth environment and conditions

Dendrobium officinale has a wide distribution area and is grown in both the south and north of my country. Its quality is proportional to the temperature difference. The greater the temperature difference, the shorter the growing period. Relatively speaking, the overall quality in Anhui and other places is better. It can usually be harvested after three years of growth, while in Yunnan and other places it grows faster and has a higher yield.

Dendrobium officinale growth conditions

Dendrobium officinale is more common in mountainous areas with higher altitudes. Its stems and leaves can be used as medicine and have good effects. It prefers a warm and humid growing climate and is generally planted in a semi-shaded growing environment. It is not very cold-resistant and prefers a cool climate.

Dendrobium officinale growth temperature

The most suitable growth temperature for Dendrobium officinale is between 18-32 degrees. The temperature in winter must be kept above 10 degrees. If the temperature in summer is higher than 35 degrees, it will stop growing.

Growth process of Dendrobium officinale

Dendrobium officinale generally reproduces through seeds, which can be spread by wind or insects, so its survival rate is relatively low. After survival, it usually takes 3-5 years from germination to maturity. It requires sufficient water environment and sufficient sunlight during maintenance.

Planting time and method of Dendrobium officinale

Dendrobium officinale is generally planted in March-April or August-September each year, but it is recommended to be planted in spring because the climate environment at that time is most suitable for growth, and the growth rate will be greatly increased, while the growth rate in autumn is slower.
