Lipstick Flower Introduction

Lipstick flower belongs to the Gesneriaceae family. It is a small shrub that blooms from December to February of the following year. It prefers a semi-shady growing environment and is relatively cold-resistant. It needs sufficient sunlight when caring for it so that it can grow well.

Lipstick flower cultivation method

1. Soil

When planting lipstick flowers, slightly acidic soil is generally used. You can use a mixture of leaf mold and coarse sand, and apply a small amount of fertilizer.

2. Watering

The lipstick flower needs to be watered appropriately at normal times. From March to September, the amount of watering needs to be increased because this is its growing period and the temperature is relatively high, so it needs sufficient water to grow.

3. Temperature

For lipstick flowers, the most suitable growth temperature is between 18-30 degrees. The growth rate will be faster at 25 degrees. In winter, the temperature must be kept above 12 degrees.

4. Lighting

Lipstick flower prefers a semi-shaded growing environment. It needs plenty of sunlight at ordinary times, but in summer it needs proper shade to avoid direct sunlight.

Lipstick flower cultivation precautions

When caring for the lipstick flower, you need to be careful. After planting, the soil needs to be kept moist, but water accumulation should be avoided, otherwise it will cause root rot and affect growth and development. In addition, there must be sufficient sunlight to allow it to grow well.
