What are the cultivation methods and precautions of pepper wood?

Pepperwood Introduction

Pepperwood, also known as Taiwan pepperwood, is a plant of the Rutaceae family. Its leaves are dark green, bright and shiny, with a faint smell. The flowers of pepperwood are golden yellow, and its fruits are dark brown and oval in shape. It is most commonly propagated by cuttings.

Pepper tree cultivation method

Pepper tree is a positive plant that needs strong light. If there is not enough light, the leaves will fall off. It is not resistant to water and should not be watered too much. Fertile sandy loam is the best soil for cultivation and the soil should have good drainage.

Watering method

Pepper tree is relatively drought-resistant, so do not water it excessively. It cannot tolerate waterlogging. Excessive watering and waterlogging will cause root rot. Generally, you should wait until the substrate is completely dry before watering it again. Drainage measures need to be taken during the rainy season.

Fertilization method

Pepper tree does not require much fertilizer and can be used only during the growing season. Generally speaking, once a month is enough. Compound fertilizers or various liquid fertilizers can be used.

Pruning methods

The growth of pepper tree is very vigorous. If it is pruned in time, the branches and leaves will look more coordinated. In addition, it is also a plant that is very resistant to pruning. Proper pruning will not cause damage to the plant. For potted plants placed at home for viewing, its shape can be repaired.

Pepper tree cultivation precautions

The suitable growth temperature for pepper tree is between 20-30 degrees. It is a plant that is both cold-resistant and heat-resistant. There is no need to adjust the temperature in winter and summer. In addition, it likes a sunny environment. If there is no light for a long time, its leaves will fall off easily. It is not afraid of strong light and can be maintained in a well-lit place.
