How to breed pineapple and what to pay attention to

Pineapple reproduction method

There are two ways to propagate pineapples: cutting propagation and sowing propagation. If you plant a lot, it is recommended to use sowing propagation. If you plant a few, you can use cutting propagation. This will be faster and have a higher survival rate.

Pineapple seed propagation

Pineapple seeds can be propagated. When planting, they need to be placed in water for germination treatment, which can increase its germination rate.

Natural reproduction of pineapple

Pineapples are generally propagated asexually using buds grown from the plant, but they can also be planted by cuttings, which is a relatively simple method.

Pineapple breeding time

It is best to sow pineapples during the high temperatures from May to October, so that the survival rate will be relatively high. Generally, the sowing propagation method is used. It does not have very high requirements for the environment, so just maintain a sufficient light environment.

Pineapple breeding method

Pineapple cutting propagation

When the pineapple is ripe, use the top leaves as cuttings, then remove the pulp, leaving 1-2 cm long under the leaves, and place them in a ventilated and shaded place for two days. Also, mix equal amounts of Akadama soil and Hyuga soil at the bottom of the cut on the leaf, and put them in a flowerpot. It is best to insert the cuttings into the soil and water them sufficiently.

Pineapple seed propagation

When sowing and propagating pineapples, you first need to soak the seeds in clean water and place them in a cool place to dry. This will increase the germination rate of the seeds. You also need to use garden soil, peat soil, river sand, organic fertilizer and other materials as the substrate. Finally, just wait for the seeds to take root and germinate.

Hydroponic pineapple propagation

When hydroponically growing pineapples, you can keep the leftover pineapples, cut off the flower spikes, making sure the cut is flat, then find a clean bottle and soak it in water. Note that you need to change the water every three days. After a week, roots will begin to grow slowly, and you can add some water and fertilizer at this time.

Pineapple breeding precautions

When propagating pineapples, you need to pay attention to the fact that they need sufficient sunlight during normal maintenance, and they should be placed in a place with a relatively suitable temperature for maintenance. Watering is required in moderation, and appropriate fertilizers are needed during the growth period.
