Vinca care in four seasons

Spring Care of Vinca

Spring is the season when all things come back to life. In early spring, when the temperature is lower, you can place the Vinca in sunny places such as balconies and windowsills so that the Vinca can receive sufficient light. When the temperature rises, you can be exposed to the sun for a long time.

Keep the soil moist and control watering. Normal watering is generally sufficient in spring, without too many restrictions. However, when Vinca is in bloom, you can water it less frequently to make the flowers more colorful. As the temperature gradually rises, you can apply fertilizer 1 to 2 times a month.

Vinca can be repotted in spring, and when repotting, it can be pruned or topped to promote branch growth.

Summer care of Vinca

Vinca is resistant to high temperatures but not to strong sunlight. The temperature is high and the sunlight is strong in summer, which can easily burn the Vinca plants, so appropriate shade can be provided in summer.

Due to the high temperature, you can often spray water around the Vinca and on its leaves to lower the temperature and increase indoor ventilation. On rainy days, make sure there is no water accumulation in the pot of the Vinca to avoid root rot.

No fertilizer is required during the dog days of summer.

Autumn care of Vinca

When the temperature gradually drops in autumn, you can increase the light intensity and place the Vinca in a sunny area for maintenance.

In autumn, you should reduce the frequency of watering to keep the soil in the pot dry and enter a semi-dormant state.

Winter care of Vinca

Vinca is also a cold-resistant plant. It can safely survive the winter as long as the temperature is above 0℃, but care must be taken to prevent frostbite. Therefore, you still need to pay attention to keeping warm in winter. If conditions permit, you can spend the winter in a greenhouse.

Do not water or fertilize too much in winter. Keep the soil in the pot dry and control the number of waterings. It is best not to fertilize.
