How to propagate trees and what to pay attention to

Tree propagation method

There are four ways of tree propagation: division, cutting, leaf cutting, and sowing. Each method is easy to survive and grows relatively slowly, but it depends on the specific variety.

Generally speaking, grafted fruit tree seeds cannot produce new varieties, but if the grafted buds or the buds on the grafted branches undergo favorable mutations, they can be stably inherited.

The most common sexual reproduction of trees includes sperm-egg fusion, flowering and fruiting, and germination, while asexual reproduction includes cuttings.

Tree breeding time

Trees generally reproduce in spring and autumn, because high temperatures in summer and low temperatures in winter are not conducive to tree reproduction. When maintaining them, they need suitable growth temperatures and sufficient sunlight.

Tree propagation methods

Propagation by division

When the tree is divided and propagated, it needs to be taken out and the root system cut open. Generally, each plant can only be divided into 2-3 plants, and then it can be planted. The incision needs to be disinfected.

Cutting propagation

When propagating trees by cuttings, you need to use nutrient-rich cuttings. And you need to plant them in loose and fertile soil, and keep the soil moist.

Seed propagation

When the tree is propagated by seeds, it is best to germinate the seeds first, and plant them when the temperature is suitable, so that they will grow faster.

Leaf cutting propagation

When propagating by leaf cuttings, you need to use complete leaf cuttings and have a good lighting environment for maintenance, so that it will grow faster. When doing leaf cuttings, you need to be careful that not all varieties can be used.

Tree propagation precautions

It is still necessary to pay attention to tree propagation. Most varieties require sufficient sunlight when growing, and they need to be maintained in a relatively warm growing environment. They also need a good ventilation environment, and they need to be watered and fertilized regularly.
