Growth habits of hydroponic cactus

Hydroponic cactus is drought-resistant, and the time for changing water can be slightly delayed. Fertilizer can be applied once every half a month. It likes a warm environment, and too high temperature will force it to "hibernate". The temperature in winter needs to be above 0 degrees. It is not resistant to strong light in summer, so it can be moved to a semi-shaded place for maintenance.

Light requirements: Hydroponic cacti prefer an environment with sufficient sunlight, but they cannot tolerate exposure to strong light. If exposed to the sun in summer, sunburn will occur, so they need to be shaded.

Growth temperature: Hydroponic cactus likes a warm environment. It is suitable for a wide temperature range and is best controlled between 5 and 30 degrees. If the temperature is below 5 degrees in winter, anti-cold measures must be taken.

Hydroponic cactus cultivation method

It is necessary to change the water for hydroponic cacti. In summer, the water should be changed once a week or so, and in winter, the water should be changed once every half a month or so. Some nutrient solution can be added each time the water is changed. When changing the water, the roots can be trimmed and the container can be cleaned to ensure the water is clean.

Watering of hydroponic cactus: Hydroponic cactus needs to change water in time. Generally speaking, it can be changed every ten days to half a month in winter, and once a week in other seasons. However, this interval can be shortened appropriately in summer. When changing the water, the container should be cleaned, some moss-like substances grown in it should be disposed of, and the mucus should also be cleaned.

Fertilization of hydroponic cactus: When changing the water, you can drop a few drops of nutrient solution into the hydroponic cactus, but not too much. Foliar fertilizer can be applied once a week to provide sufficient nutrients for the leaves, make the leaves look more shiny, and increase the ability to resist cold in winter.

Pruning of hydroponic cactus: The roots of hydroponic cactus need to be pruned in time, mainly cutting off the rotten and aging parts, and also trimming the dead leaves and yellow leaves to reduce the loss of nutrients.

Cuttings of hydroponic cactus: Cuttings of hydroponic cactus can be carried out in April and May. Choose large branches with branches for cuttings. Keep them in a cool place before they take root. Control watering and they will take root in about 20 days.

Precautions for hydroponic cactus maintenance

The water of hydroponic cactus needs to be changed in time. The amount of water each time should cover one-half to two-thirds of the root system. Do not soak all the roots in water.
