Grape growing environment conditions and characteristics

Grape growing environment conditions and requirements

Grapes are native to western Asia and are currently cultivated all over the world. The plants prefer a warm, humid, well-lit growing environment and have high requirements for water, but are wary of rain and dew. In years with too much rain, there will be insufficient sunlight, which is not conducive to the growth of the fruit.

Grape growing temperature

Grapes prefer a warm growing environment. The most suitable growth temperature is 20-30℃, and the lowest temperature during the growth period is 12-15℃. The plant is very afraid of freezing, and when the temperature is below 10℃, the plant's growth will slow down.

Grape growing humidity

Grapes require an air humidity of around 65-75% and have high demands for water, but they cannot be allowed to live in a high-humidity environment for a long time, otherwise the plants will be easily infected by diseases.

Grape growing soil

Grapes have strict requirements for soil and prefer loose, well-drained sandy soil. In summer, the plants should be sprayed with borax, potassium dihydrogen phosphate and other nutrients.

Grape growth cycle and process

Grapes begin to bear fruit 2-3 years after planting. The plants will enter the shoot growth stage 2 weeks after planting and will start to bloom in early June. At this time, the branches and leaves need to be pruned in time. The grapes will enter the fruiting stage at the end of June and the ripening stage in August, at which time the fruits can be picked.
