How to grow Milan flowers in autumn

How to grow Milan flowers in autumn

1. Maintain the temperature

Although this plant can withstand high temperatures, it cannot withstand extremely low temperatures. After entering autumn, the temperature changes will be somewhat abnormal, and there may be a sudden drop in temperature, which will have a bad impact on the plants and hinder their growth. In early autumn, you can put plastic bags over the plants to keep them warm.

When the frost comes, the temperature will become very low. At this time, the plants should be moved indoors for maintenance, which will also facilitate wintering later.

2. Reduce the amount of watering

Because it is very important to overwinter after autumn, in order to improve its resistance and prevent the potting soil from being too wet and causing the plant to suffer from frost damage. Therefore, starting from autumn, you can gradually reduce the amount of watering, because this is no longer the most vigorous growth period, the evaporation rate has slowed down, and the demand for water has been significantly reduced.

3. Control fertilization

In autumn, fertilization can be stopped. Because of the lower temperature, the plant will enter a dormant period and the root system will not be able to absorb so many nutrients. If you continue to apply nutrients, it will cause a burden on the root system.
