How to divide Mo Lan into pots

How to divide Mo Lan into pots

1. Time for dividing the pots

The time for dividing the pots should be chosen in autumn when the climate is suitable. Because at this time not only is the temperature stable, but there is also a certain amount of time before winter, so the new plants have enough time to adapt to the new potting soil.

2. Matrix

The substrate used for dividing the plant into pots should be the humus soil under the forest where it originally grew. This soil has good drainage and sufficient nutrients, which can meet the needs of the plant after dividing the plant into pots.

3. Separation and disinfection

When dividing the pot, gently grasp the base of the plant, turn the pot upside down, and gently tap the pot to separate the pot from the soil. Then knock off the soil on the roots, clean the roots, and cut off the rotten and dry roots. After that, divide it into 3-4 plants from the root, and make sure that each new plant has at least one new bud. Finally, put them in 800 times potassium permanganate for disinfection.

4. Put it in the basin

Prepare a few new flower pots, put a layer of broken tiles at the bottom of the pots, cover with a layer of window screen, then a layer of expanded clay and put the plants in. Then add humus to the base of the plant and spread a layer of fake mountain grass on the surface of the soil to prevent water from splashing when watering, affecting the ornamental effect.

5. Pest and disease control

Its branches and leaves are tender and contain a lot of moisture, making them easy targets for insects. In addition to the usual preventive measures such as frequent ventilation and sun exposure, you should also observe its condition frequently. If you find insects on the branches and leaves, you can spray the branches with insecticide. Refer to the instructions for dosage. If the potting soil is infected with pests, you need to change the pot and soil.
