How to arrange violets in a vase

How to arrange violets in a vase

1. Prepare the vase

Choose a tall and slender vase as a vase for decorating the flowers. Pour about one-third of clean water into the bottle and add preservative solution. The ratio of clean water to preservative solution is about 100:1. The function of preservative liquid is to prolong the flowering period. Generally, cut flowers will wither after a week, and the preservative liquid can extend it to about 20 days.

2. Choose cut flowers

Generally, we choose branches with flowers that are about 30 cm long. There need to be fresh leaves on the upper part of the branches, and the flower stems must not be damaged, otherwise the flowering period will be greatly shortened.

3. Pruning and root cutting

Pruning serves two purposes. One is to prevent the leaves from coming into contact with the water in the vase and causing rot, so we need to remove all the leaves in the middle and lower parts of the branches and only keep the leaves on the upper parts. The second purpose is to get the material to fit the length of the bottle. Cut a 45-degree incision at the bottom, making sure the flower stem is about 10 cm higher than the mouth of the bottle.

4. Vase Insertion

Insert several processed violets into the bottle. Make sure there is space between each branch, which makes it look beautiful and allows for ventilation. Check again before arranging flowers to avoid damaged or diseased branches.

5. Maintenance methods

After putting the violets in a vase, place them in a sheltered place indoors, such as a bedroom or on a dining table, to prevent strong winds from blowing the flowers away. Also, don't place the flowers too close to fruits and vegetables, as this will accelerate the withering of the flowers. The water does not need to be changed too frequently and it is not advisable to take it out frequently.
