How to identify the evergreen vine

1. Leaves

Evergreen oil vine has pinnate leaves with 3 leaflets, 21 to 39 cm long, petiole 7 to 16.5 cm long, leaflets are papery or leathery, terminal leaflets are elliptical, oblong or ovate-elliptical, 8 to 15 cm long, 3.5 to 6 cm wide, the tip of the leaves gradually becomes pointed, and the base is slightly cuneate.

2. Flowers

The raceme of Evergreen Oilseed Vine grows on old stems, 10 to 36 cm long, with 3 flowers on each node, pedicels 1 to 2.5 cm long, with short stiff hairs, calyx tube is broad cup-shaped, 8 to 12 mm long, 18 to 25 mm wide; corolla is dark purple, turns black when dry, about 6.5 cm long, the standard petal is 3.2 to 4 cm long and round.
