How to grow ginger

How to grow ginger

1. Preparation before sowing

Choose healthy and complete pieces of ginger with 1 to 2 strong buds on top. Cut large pieces of ginger with a knife or break them apart with your hands, and disinfect the cut surfaces with wood ash.

2. Choose a container

Choose a suitable flower pot, preferably a clay pot. Before using the clay pot, you can soak it in clean water for 4 or 5 hours to expel the turbid gas in the pot wall. The flower pot must have drainage holes at the bottom.

3. Choose Soil

Sandy soil is the best soil. You can make it yourself using humus, river sand and garden soil.

4. Planting Method

Place the ginger seeds with their buds facing upwards or horizontally in a flowerpot, leaving a height of 5 to 10 centimeters. Then cover the ginger seeds with soil and water them thoroughly. Place them in a warm place for maintenance, and seedlings will grow in about a month.
