How to fertilize osmanthus

How to fertilize osmanthus

1. How to fertilize

During the planting and seedling period of osmanthus, fertilizer should be applied 3 to 4 times a year. In early spring, the buds begin to grow and the roots begin to absorb fertilizer. Therefore, quick-acting fertilizers mainly composed of soybean meal, pig manure, livestock manure and other nitrogen fertilizers can be applied in early spring. Applying fertilizer at this time can promote the growth of spring shoots. From April to May, apply fertilizer approximately every 10 to 15 days. In autumn, after the osmanthus flowers bloom, in order to restore the tree's vigor, you can apply manure fertilizer before winter comes, which can improve its cold resistance and prepare for wintering.

2. Precautions

The pig manure and livestock manure applied to osmanthus must be decomposed in advance. When applying fertilizer in summer, do not choose noon or around noon, because the soil temperature is high at this time. If you apply fertilizer, it is easy to burn the roots. It is best to choose to apply fertilizer in the evening and then water it.
