How to water Lithops

How to water Lithops

1. Master the correct watering method

For Lithops, watering is very important, and it is also the aspect that novices find most difficult to grasp. If you master the correct watering method, it can be said that growing lithops is not too difficult. Therefore, if you are a novice and don’t have much experience in watering, it is best to practice with an empty pot before purchasing the plant. Once you understand the dryness and wetness of the pot, you will understand the difference between semi-transparent, fully transparent, and just a little watering.

2. How to water

1. Do not water the plant when the roots are trimmed and it is just put into the pot. After drying for three or four days, you need to replenish water. Moreover, it is best to add some fungicide to the water, otherwise the roots will easily rot.

2. After that, you can water it according to the condition of the plant. Judge whether to water and the best amount of watering based on the number of wrinkles on it. Observe the condition of the plant. If there are no wrinkles on it, you can stop watering it for the time being. If there are one or two wrinkles, you can water it, but not completely through it, half-transparent is best. If there are already multiple wrinkles on it, then not only should you water it, but you should water it thoroughly.

3. Notes

Relatively speaking, Lithops are more afraid of waterlogging, so even if it is fully transparent, the amount cannot be too much, and the limit is that there should be no water accumulation in the pot. During the rainy season, try to avoid getting wet.
