How to plant Clematis

How to plant Clematis

1. Purchase plants

The best time to purchase is usually in autumn, winter and early spring, when any form can be bought for planting. You can also buy them in other seasons, but you should choose seedlings with pots.

2. Choose the medium and flower pot

If it is a potted plant, first find a breathable pot, and then add some peat and other media into it. When choosing the medium, it is best to mix peat, bamboo charcoal or charcoal, and then water the medium.

3. Planting

If you buy the kind that comes with a potted seedling and want to plant it in a pot, you can go home and change the pot. If the original soil and the newly prepared medium are very similar, then just remove part of the original soil, replace it with the new medium, add base fertilizer and plant it. If the garden soil is very different from the new soil, you need to replace the original soil and cut the branches short, leaving about 7 nodes, which will help the seedlings to grow slowly, and then you can plant them without adding fertilizer. Then pour water in and place it in a ventilated place for a week, then you can maintain it normally. Alternatively, you may not need to change the pot for the time being. If you want to repot in late winter or early spring, let it grow slowly first and then repot.

4. Ground Planting

If you want to plant it in the ground, you can first dig a hole larger than the pot, then put in the substrate and add base fertilizer, then you can plant the plant in and water it. The best time to slow down the growth of seedlings is on a rainy day. Therefore, before planting in the ground, you must check the weather to help the seedlings to grow slowly. If this is not possible, leave more of the original soil when planting in the ground.
