How to water Chunlan

How to water Chunlan

1. The effect of water on Chunlan

1. Water is its important component. Its water content is above 80%. If the water content decreases, its growth will be affected. If it loses water, its protoplasm will be eroded and it will die.

2. Water has many functions, such as promoting metabolism and maintaining cell fullness. In addition, hydrolysis reactions also require water. Moreover, the nutrients in the soil must first be dissolved in water before they can be absorbed by the roots, and they also need to be transported through water.

3. Water can fix its shape. If there is enough water, it will grow upright and be able to exchange light and gas. Otherwise, it will easily shrink if there is lack of water. Water can also regulate its body temperature, keeping it warm and releasing heat.

2. Ways of water supply

The first is to absorb water through the roots and then use blood vessels to transport the water to the entire body of the flower. The second way is to absorb water vapor from the air through its leaves to provide the water needed for its metabolism.

3. Watering Methods

1. Water the roots

If you are watering, you should water along the edge of the flowerpot, so that it will take many times to water the soil thoroughly. If you are watering, you can wet the area around the entire flower and let the water penetrate into the soil, but be careful not to sprinkle it into the heart of the leaves, otherwise it will easily rot. You can also put the planting material and 4/3 of the pot in water. The water will quickly soak the soil, but be careful about bacterial erosion.

2. Water the leaves

If you spray it, you can spray it directly on the leaves, and it can absorb water through the stomata. If you want to increase the humidity, you can increase the humidity in the air, put some basins of water under the orchid rack, or use a humidifier pump.

4. Water volume and timing

If it's too wet, the roots will have a hard time breathing and will rot. Without water, it will shrink, its growth will be stunted, and it may die. Therefore, the amount of water must be moderate. You have to wait until the soil in the pot is not completely dry and the drainage holes at the bottom of the pot are moist but not wet. This is the best time to water it. There is no need to wait until it is completely dry before watering, as this will damage its development.
