How to fertilize azalea

1. Fertilization method

In March and April, that is, after the plants leave the house and before the buds turn color, in order to make the old leaves turn green and promote the growth of new roots, apply dilute alum fertilizer water every 10 days; in May to July, that is, after the flowers wither, apply diluted alum fertilizer water every half a month; from August to mid-October, during the bud formation period, apply alum fertilizer water containing potassium and scales every 10 days; after the plants have overwintered near the house, fertilization should be stopped.

2. Precautions

1. When fertilizing azalea, be sure to apply fertilizer frequently and in small amounts. Make sure the fertilizer is fully decomposed before use and do not splash the fertilizer onto the branches and leaves.

2. When applying fertilizer, choose a time when the weather is clear and the soil in the pot is dry, preferably in the evening, as this is the best and safest time to do so.

3. On the morning of the second day after fertilizing, water the plant once. Use clean water, which will help dissolve the fertilizer and allow better absorption by the roots.
