Should I use a deep or shallow basin for blue snow flowers?

1. Common selection of flower pot diameter

For those blue snow flower seedlings that have just been cut or planted, if you want to transplant them, one seedling requires a pot with a diameter of about 12 to 18 cm, and more than two seedlings require a pot with a diameter of more than 18 cm. If you want the flowers to bloom effectively, then plant 2 to 3 seedlings in each pot.

However, because the rhizomes of adult blue snow plants have strong growth and spread capabilities, we try to choose deeper pots. Usually, the diameter of a single flowerpot should be between 20 and 30 cm, which is more conducive to its root growth.

2. Choose the depth of the flower pot

The depth of the flowerpot is directly related to the development of the root system and the absorption capacity of water and fertilizer. Because its root system is very long and scattered, and the main stem also occupies a certain amount of soil, so when choosing to grow it, try to use a deep pot. Using a shallow pot will inhibit its growth and make the roots become bent. In severe cases, water will accumulate in the pot and cause root rot.

3. Choose the right material for the flower pot

When planting it, the depth of the flowerpot is important, but the material of the flowerpot is also very important. Ceramic pots, earthen pots, and porcelain pots are the best. Never use plastic pots, water basins, or sand pots because they have poor drainage and will affect the breathing of the roots. In addition, after selecting the material of the flower pot, you also need to choose loose and breathable soil so that it can grow better.
