How to grow hibiscus

How to grow hibiscus

1. Breeding environment

(1) Soil: The most basic requirement is that the soil is fertile and loose. In addition, depending on the properties of the plant itself, there are also requirements for pH, preferably slightly acidic.

(2) Temperature: The plant prefers warmth, around 15 degrees. Especially in winter, you need to protect yourself from the cold as the temperature is above five degrees.

(3) Moisture: It is quite sensitive and cannot be too dry or too wet. It is best to water according to the soil conditions.

(4) Light: It is a positive tree species, so it has high demand for light and needs to be provided with sufficient light.

(5) Fertilizer: Mainly needed during the growth period, about once a week to ten days. Starting from the end of autumn, you should gradually reduce the amount of fertilizer.

2. Repotting and pruning

In order to promote the healthy growth of the plant, it is necessary to repot it regularly. It is best to change it once a year, in early spring, around April. Changing the soil is the first step, and the choice of soil has been mentioned above. Next is pruning. First, you need to trim off the dense and dry roots. In addition, to ensure the beautiful shape of the plant, you can also trim the branches, leaving two or three buds at the base of each branch. Also, when repotting, use base fertilizer, preferably including phosphorus fertilizer.

3. Pest control

The plants are easily threatened by some pests, such as aphids, red spiders and so on. Spray the medicine on the leaves once a week, and about two or three times will be enough for successful prevention and control.
