The cultivation methods and precautions of sapodilla

The cultivation methods and precautions of sapodilla

1. Maintenance methods

1. Soil: Sapodilla likes fertile, breathable and loose sandy soil, so that its roots can grow faster. In addition, the soil must have good drainage to avoid waterlogging.

2. Temperature: It likes to grow at a temperature of 20-28℃ and has no cold resistance, but as long as the temperature is not lower than 5℃, it will not be frozen to death by the low temperature. However, it will be safer to spend the winter when the temperature is 15℃.

3. Light: It should be given sufficient sunlight during maintenance, but it should be placed in a shaded place in the summer and should not be exposed to direct sunlight.

4. Water: It requires more water in spring and summer, and less watering in autumn and winter. The soil should be kept moist during maintenance.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Pruning: Pruning is required in spring and summer every year. Pruning is to cut off overly dense branches and leaves, which is conducive to ventilation and prevention of diseases and pests.

2. Reproduction: You can sow in early spring, place the seeds evenly in the soil, keep the temperature at 25-28℃, and they will germinate three to four weeks after sowing.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Sooty mold: Sooty mold is a common disease. Once symptoms of the disease appear, we must cut off the diseased leaves as soon as possible and use Bordeaux liquid for prevention and control.

2. Anthracnose: Brown spots will appear at the roots and will grow larger over time. First, cut off the diseased roots and use methyl thiophanate for prevention and control.

IV. Other issues

1. Is it poisonous? It is non-toxic. If you plant it in your own yard, it is very ornamental and can also be eaten.

2. Can it be grown outdoors?: It can be grown outdoors, but it must be placed in a place with good lighting conditions. It is recommended to keep it indoors in winter.
