How to plant the succulents you just bought

How to plant the succulents you just bought

1. Soil replacement and cleaning

No matter which channel you buy succulents from, you need to change the pot and soil. First, take out the plant, remove the old soil, and then clean the roots. During the cleaning process, you can use slow water to rinse and try to avoid damaging the roots, otherwise it will be difficult to survive after being potted later. Wash until you see white roots.

2. Root pruning

The succulents you buy are generally grown in a rough manner and may have many empty roots, dead roots or rotten roots. You need to clean them up one by one at this time, and you can also appropriately cut off those side roots that grow too long and wildly. If some leaves are shriveled, curled or rotten, remove them as well. Trim the roots to about 3 cm in length and disinfect them in agents such as carbendazim or potassium permanganate solution.

3. Potting and maintenance

After drying the treated plant in a cool place, you can carefully place it in a pot and plant it. Generally, some large particles are placed on the bottom and some small sand and soil are placed on the top to facilitate drainage. Don't rush to water the plant after planting it. Place it in a bright and ventilated place, wait for it to adapt to the pot and take root, and then water it after the soil in the pot is dry.
