What fertilizer to use for cactus

What fertilizer to use for cactus

1. Requirements for fertilizer

Cactus requires a lot of fertilizer, especially when it is growing fast. It has some requirements for fertilizers that we need to pay attention to:

(1) It should be fully decomposed fertilizer. Otherwise, it is easy to cause fertilizer damage.

(2) Fertilizers cannot contain too much salt, otherwise it will also cause harm.

(3) In addition, attention should be paid to the type of nutrients, with fertilizers containing phosphorus and potassium being the main ones, supplemented by those containing nitrogen.

2. What fertilizer to use

(1) Cake fertilizer: The waste remaining after edible oil extraction is called cake fertilizer. Such as bean cakes, peanut cakes and so on.

(2) Animal feces: You can use chicken manure or pigeon manure, soak it in water, and then take only the clear liquid. You can also use cow dung, but it is mainly used as a base fertilizer and mixed into the soil. It can not only supplement nutrients, but also loosen the soil. Human feces and urine are also acceptable.

(3) Bone meal, etc.: Bone meal and hoof horn can both be used. It contains more phosphorus and its effect lasts longer. If it is a hoof horn, cut it into slices first and then soak it in water.

(4) Fish meal: This refers to the intestines, shells and other materials of fish. Pay special attention to low concentration and sufficient degree of maturity.

(5) Wood ash: It contains a lot of potassium and can be mixed into the soil.

(6) Purchased fertilizers: There are many compound fertilizers on the market. They are effective and pollution-free.
