What to do after succulents bloom

What to do after succulents bloom

1. Treatment methods

1. Prune the flower arrow: The flower arrow of succulent plants can be pruned after flowering, because it will compete with the plant itself for nutrients. If it is not pruned in time, the plant may grow poorly. After the flower arrow is cut off, it can grow more side buds.

2. Ornamental topdressing: Some succulents have beautiful flowers, which you can enjoy if you don’t want to prune them. However, it will consume more nutrients, so more potassium dihydrogen phosphate needs to be applied. Only by applying more fertilizer can the plant be promoted to bloom, otherwise it will affect its growth.

3. Pollination and hybridization: If two succulents of the same genus are both in bloom, they can be pollinated and hybridized. After the seeds grow and are stored, new varieties may be produced.

2. Treatment of plant death

Some varieties of succulents will die after flowering. If you don't want them to die, you need to trim off the flower buds. If you also trim off the flower arrows, the remaining plants will grow new leaves after a period of growth.
