There is a legend about the golden fruit.

In a small village southeast of Tangqi, there is a young man named Axiang. His father died when he was young, and he was raised by his mother.

A Xiang's mother raised him with great difficulty. When A Xiang grew up, he was very sensible and filial, which was well-known by those around him. One year, Axiang's mother fell ill and coughed all day long. One day, A Xiang saw an old man with a white beard in his dream. The old man told him to find a wild fruit called golden fruit, pick the fruit and leaves together, eat the fruit first, and then fry the leaves into soup, then A Xiang's mother's illness can be cured.

The next day, A Xiang set out to look for fruit. A Xiang went to the mountain, but the mountain was too big. A Xiang searched very hard, but he didn't find the golden fruit. But A Xiang was unwilling to go back like this, so he mustered up his courage and continued searching.

Later, Ah Xiang was tired and walked unsteadily in a daze. He missed a step and fell into a ravine. Fortunately, a tree saved him. Coincidentally, the tree was full of golden fruits. When A Xiang took a look, he thought, isn’t this the golden fruit that the old man talked about?

A Xiang was very happy. He picked a few fruits and some leaves and hurried home. Axiang's mother ate the fruits that Axiang picked and drank the soup made from tree leaves for a few days. Her cough actually got better.

Although this legend tells the story of a filial young man, it also indirectly describes the medicinal effects of the golden fruit.
