What fertilizer is best for potted money trees?

What fertilizer is best for potted money trees?

1. Nitrogen and Potash Fertilizers

There are two main nutrients that the money tree needs. The first is nitrogen, which is for the leaves and can make the leaves become big and shiny. The second is potassium, which is beneficial to the roots and helps them become stronger.

2. Slow-release fertilizer or homemade fertilizer

Generally speaking, compound fertilizers, liquid fertilizers, etc. bought from the market are all acceptable. But it is relatively untargeted and the effect will not be very good. The best fertilizers are mainly the following two types:

(1) Slow-release fertilizer: This slow-release fertilizer is a special fertilizer specifically for foliage plants. It is usually granular and has no taste. Apply according to the instructions and it will slowly release the fertilizer. Therefore, there is no need to worry that the plants will be burned by excessive or concentrated fertilizer. The method of use is also very simple, just make a few small holes on the edge of the pot and then put fertilizer in.

(2) Cooked soybeans: If you do not want to use commercial fertilizers, you can also make your own at home. For example, cooked soybeans are a good choice. It contains a lot of nitrogen, which can not only supplement nutrition but also has no peculiar smell.

3. Fertilization time and frequency

The main time fertilizer is needed is during the growing season, which is roughly from April to September. During this period, fertilization can be done about once every half a month. If the growth is too weak, the interval can be shorter.
