How to deal with newly bought camellia

How to deal with newly bought camellia

1. The importance of slow seedling growth

Newly bought camellia must be hardened before it can be used. Because the plants have just been transported and are in a new environment. If this is not done, the plants will not be able to adapt to the environment and may easily encounter problems of one kind or another. In mild cases, the leaves may turn yellow, black or fall off, and in severe cases, the roots may rot or even die. There are four main points to pay attention to during the seedling acclimatization process.

2. How to slow down the growth of seedlings

(1) Whether to water: After buying the camellia and bringing it home, first carefully check the soil of the camellia. If the soil is relatively moist, you can temporarily stop watering. However, if you find that the soil is dry, you must water it and water it thoroughly. After that, you can put it in the pot and start to slow down the growth of the seedlings.

(2) What to do if the soil in the pot is too moist: If you find that the soil is too moist, or even has water accumulation, do not ignore it. First of all, ventilation is required. If necessary, place some moisture-absorbing materials on the soil, such as charcoal, lime, etc. These substances can help absorb water.

(3) What to do if the stem breaks: If it is not completely separated, there is no need to rush to cut it off. Just treat it with a Band-Aid. When new buds sprout, you can cut them off.

(4) Environment: The light should be bright but not exposed to direct sunlight. Don't get caught in rain and don't expect strong winds. The period for the seedlings to grow slowly is about three to twenty days.
