How to grow Cymbidium

How to grow Cymbidium

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: For growing Cistanche, you should choose sandy soil with good drainage and rich in humus. Slightly acidic soil is more conducive to its growth.

2. Light: It does not like sunlight, so do not expose it to direct sunlight. You can place it in a place with scattered light or a cool and bright place. In addition, it must be properly ventilated and the growing environment should not be too dry.

3. Temperature: It needs to be given a growing environment of 15-30℃. If the temperature in summer is higher than 35℃ or lower than 5℃, it will affect its growth and development, and it will enter a dormant state, so the temperature should be adjusted appropriately according to the weather.

2. Breeding Methods

1. Propagation by division: Division usually takes place rapidly in spring and autumn. Choose plants with vigorous growth for division. Each clump should have 5 pseudobulbs. When planting, bury the pseudobulbs in the soil. The soil does not need to be too thick. Water thoroughly, place in a cool place and ensure that the soil is moist.

2. Seed propagation: First disinfect the seeds, soak them in sodium thiourea for about 5 minutes, then wash them with sterile water, sow them in a culture bottle, and place them in a cool place. They can be transplanted half a year to a year after sowing.

3. Common pests and diseases

Common diseases and pests include white rot, anthracnose and scale insects. When you find that the plant is damaged, you should cut off the diseased branches and leaves in time, spray it with pesticides, and ensure proper ventilation.
