How to take care of the succulent plants you just bought

1. Clean, trim and disinfect the roots

After buying the plant, the first thing to do is to pour out all the original soil. Then clean the roots and try to kill the germs and insect eggs in them. To avoid damaging the roots, be gentle when washing. Soak and wash repeatedly until white roots appear. After that, decide whether to trim it based on the specific situation. Cut off diseased and dead roots, and if necessary, cut off very long lateral roots. Then, soak it in a fungicide for about an hour, such as chlorothalonil.

2. Choose flower pots and pots

Choose a suitable pot for it and then spray it with fungicide. You can choose ceramic pots, resin pots, etc., and make sure there are holes at the bottom. Place the substrate in the pot, with slightly larger particles at the bottom and slightly smaller particles at the top. Afterwards, load the plant so that the soil completely covers the roots. Then compact it and spray it with fungicide to make the soil appear slightly moist.

3. Later maintenance

After potting, it is suitable to be placed in a place with scattered light, not in direct sunlight, and not in too much shade. Also pay attention to ventilation. Do not water at this stage. After about a week, it will reach the stage of acclimatization. At this time, you can resume watering and return to full sun. And a layer of water mist should be sprayed on the surface of the soil every day to appropriately increase the humidity.
