Pictures of pear tree diseases and pests and their prevention and control methods

Pear tree is an important economic fruit crop and is widely planted in my country. However, during its growth process, it is often attacked by various diseases and pests, which have a serious impact on its yield and quality. So what are the common diseases and pests of pear trees? How to prevent and treat it? Let’s learn more about it below.

1. Ring rot

Pear ring rot, also known as rough bark disease, is a serious threat that can cause fruit rot and branch death.

Prevention and control methods : Scrape off the spots and apply concentrated alkaline water or lime sulfur solution; or use drugs such as tebuconazole, folconazole, and mancozeb for prevention and control.

2. Black spot disease

Pear scab is common and ranks first among pear tree diseases.

Prevention and control methods: Spray 100 times diluted Fungus Toxin or 3-5 degree leaching lime sulfur mixture during the bud germination period to reduce the source of overwintering fungi. In the early stage, spray the protective agent once every 10-15 days, and in the middle and late stages, spray the fungicide once every 10 days.

3. Brown spot disease

The main damage is to the leaves. Severe lesions can cause the leaves to necrotize or turn yellow and fall off.

Prevention and control methods: Combine pear rust prevention and control in early spring before pear trees sprout. The following agents can be used for prevention and control: 3000 times diluted 10% fenpropimorph water dispersible granules, or 5000 times diluted 50% myclobutanil water dispersible granules, or 1500 times diluted 12% amyclobutanil.

4. Pear borer

The larvae damage new shoots and fruits by boring them, which can cause the top shoots to wither and the fruits to rot and fall off.

Prevention and control methods: During the peak period of adult infestation, DDT emulsion, carbaryl wettable powder, cypermethrin, and dichlorvos urea-3 can be used for control.

5. Pear aphid

The pear aphid, also known as the pear aphid, damages the leaves on the new shoots of pear trees, causing the leaves to curl into a tube shape and then become brittle and fall off.

Prevention and control methods: Remove the infected curled leaves, burn or bury them; you can also spray Metformin No. 3 or Budweiser for drug control.

6. Pear net bug

The damage caused by the pear bug to pear trees mainly occurs on the leaves. After the eggs hatch, the nymphs gather on the back of the pear leaves to suck sap for nutrition.

Prevention and control methods: attract overwintering adults and clean the garden in winter; or spray DDT emulsion, carbofuran emulsion, malathion emulsion, and Biophosphorus No. 3 on the leaves for prevention and control.

The above is an introduction to several common pear tree diseases and pests . When implementing prevention and control measures, we should combine agricultural control, biological control, chemical control and other methods to achieve comprehensive management.
