How to grow lotus

How to grow lotus

1. Breeding environment

1. Light: Bowl lotus likes sunlight and needs at least 7 hours of sunlight a day. Adequate sunlight is very beneficial to its growth. If it is grown indoors, move it to a sunny place appropriately, otherwise it will affect its growth.

2. Water: Different growth stages require different amounts of water. Too much water is not needed in the early stages of growth, otherwise root rot will occur. As the plants continue to grow, increase the amount of watering appropriately. Pay attention to the cleanliness of the water, otherwise it will easily cause infection and affect its growth.

3. Fertilization: During cultivation, you can add decomposed bean cake as base fertilizer. When the leaves emerge, you can add potassium fertilizer to promote the formation of flower buds. Do not apply too much fertilizer.

4. Temperature: The temperature must be maintained at 20℃ so that it can grow and bloom normally. If it is lower than 15℃, it will be difficult to bloom.

2. Breeding Methods

Use a tool to open the round end of the lotus seed to allow water to seep into the seed. Soak the broken seeds in warm water for 2-7 days. After they germinate, grow them in water. After a period of time, when the second leaf grows roots, they can be planted.

3. Common pests and diseases

1. Aphids: They usually appear in the seedling stage. They can be caught manually in the early stage and sprayed with pesticides when the situation is serious.

2. Diseases: Common diseases include leaf spot and rot. Remove the diseased leaves in time after discovery to reduce the source of infection, then spray the leaves with carbendazim. Ventilate the room frequently to ensure air quality.
