How to grow lucky bamboo

How to grow lucky bamboo

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: It is best to use fertile and humus-rich soil to grow lucky bamboo.

2. Fertilization: Lucky bamboo cannot tolerate high concentrations of fertilizers and raw fertilizers. Applying compound fertilizer every 15 days in spring, summer and autumn can make it grow better. It generally does not need to be fertilized in winter.

3. Temperature: 20-30℃ is the best, and the lowest temperature cannot be lower than 5℃. If the temperature is too low, it will be frostbitten, the stems will turn yellow, and the roots will rot.

4. Watering: The potting soil should always be kept in a semi-wet and semi-dry state. When the temperature is high in summer, you can water it once a day. In spring and autumn, water it once a week. In winter, water it once every 20 days. In normal times, you should spray water on the plant or its surroundings regularly to make the leaves cleaner and prevent the leaves from turning yellow due to lack of water.

2. Breeding Methods

1. Soil cultivation: Cut 20-25 cm tender stems in spring, then soak them in potassium permanganate for about 30 minutes. After drying, you can insert them into the potting soil. Water them once a day, and it will take root in about a month.

2. Hydroponics: Cut the branch at the tip of the meristem, cut off the leaves around it and put it into water. Control the temperature at 25℃ and it will take root in 15 days.

3. Common pests and diseases

The main diseases and pests include leaf spot, anthracnose, spider mites, scale insects, etc. They can be captured manually after they appear. When diseases occur, you can use chlorothalonil or methyl thiophanate to spray alternately, with an interval of 5-7 days.
