If you don't do this when repotting, the roots will rot and the leaves will fall off, and every time you repot, the whole pot will die!

Time to repot

The best time to repot is during the plant's dormant or growing season. Repotting at this time will cause minimal damage to potted plants, and potted plants will recover quickly. If your flowers are dying, don't worry about the time to repot!

Most potted plants can be grown in spring and autumn at a temperature of 15-20℃.

Note: The plant cannot be repotted during its growth period, seedling acclimatization period, and flowering period!

Steps to repotting

1. Remove from the basin:

Before removing the pot, you must first control the water. Do not water within 3 to 5 days before removing from the pot. The plant is prone to removing from the pot if the soil is half dry.

Note that the roots must be kept with soil. You can trim the roots appropriately and remove the old potting soil appropriately, but the soil in the middle of the roots must not be moved!

2. Root Pruning

Use scissors to cut off rotten roots and old roots, and if there are dead leaves, cut off the dead leaves as well.

Apply carbendazim powder to the incision for sterilization and disinfection.

3. Prepare new potting soil

1. If the plant to be repotted has already taken shape, you can use a pot of the same size to repot it. If the plant is still growing, you should change to a larger pot.

2. Prepare new soil. You can prepare it yourself or buy it directly. If you want to use old soil, make sure to expose it to sunlight first to sterilize and disinfect it.

3. Before adding soil, it is best to put some broken tiles or expanded clay at the bottom of the pot to increase the aeration of the soil, and add a small amount of base fertilizer, such as sterilized chicken manure, cake fertilizer, etc., to increase soil fertility.

4. Put on the new basin

Straighten the plant and place it in the new pot, sprinkle new soil on it and gently shake the plant.

After replacing the new soil, water it once to help it take root. That is, water it thoroughly until the water flows out from the bottom of the pot.

Things to note after repotting

After repotting, place the plant in a cool place for a while. After about a week, move it to a bright and ventilated place and maintain it normally.

Do not apply fertilizer within 3 months after repotting.

Clivia, orchids, etc. are usually repotted every 2 to 3 years. Plants with fast-growing roots, such as spider plants, are best repotted once a year.
