New Feather Arrowroot Planting Method

New Feather Arrowroot Planting Method

1. Division method

1. Division time: The division of new flying feather arrowroot is generally carried out in spring. But if the environment is suitable, with the temperature around 20℃ and the humidity above 80%, the plants can be divided at any time.

2. To divide the plant: First remove the new flying feather arrowroot from the pot. Stop watering it for a few days to keep the soil in the pot dry. After removing the plant from the pot, use a knife to cut the root tuber, leaving the stems, leaves and leaf buds on it. Then plant the cut root pieces separately, spray them with water and cover them with plastic film.

3. Subsequent maintenance: It is not advisable to water the plants after division. Wait until they have adapted to the pot before watering. The temperature should be kept between 20-28℃, and water should be sprayed around to increase humidity. Then put it in a cool place away from sunlight.

2. Cutting method

1. Cutting time: The time for cutting of new flying feather arrowroot is generally in spring and autumn, as long as the temperature is above 20℃.

2. Cuttings processing: Cut a tender shoot at the top, the length is between 10-15 cm. Keep the upper third of the leaves intact and apply indoleacetic acid or rooting powder to the base. Then insert it into the plain sand. If the sand is relatively moist, there is no need to water it.

3. Subsequent maintenance: After cutting, place it in a cool place and increase ventilation to prevent bacteria from infecting the roots. It usually takes about 30-50 days for roots to form, but the survival rate is not very high, only about 50%.
